Sky, although young is the consummate soldier. He grew up without a mother or a true father. All he knew of his biological dad for most of his life was that he was a legend. The great Andreas of Eraklyon, a true warrior who died a hero in service for his country.

From a young age, Sky was raised by his specialist trainer, Saul Silva. He may have been a father figure, but mostly he was a trainer. Sky was reminded often that he was a soldier first, a human being second and as a specialist, they must always prepare themselves for the worst. So early on the specialist learned to bottle up his feelings and became more stoic than many of the other specialists who came to his school (Alfea) from loving homes. The only time he let his real personality show was when he was goofing off with his roommate and best friend Riven, or letting down his hair to party occasionally.

Even those things became a liability when he was faced with real-life and death situations in his second year of higher education. Sky buttoned himself back up once more, and couldn't find it in himself to even find compassion for his best friend who seemed to be falling apart. Naturally, a caretaker, Sky had watched out for the princess of Solaria the entire previous year, being her solid wall and the only person she could turn to. He never had anyone he could lean on, and with Riven it seemed that there was only so much of Sky to go around.

It wasn't until Bloom, a fire fairy entered his life, did Sky understand true love and what it meant to give and have someone give back in return. He gave into his constant desire to let his walls down. She became his first true love, and they faced war together, twice. They even faced the return of his father from the dead, and then the fact that his father was a traitor to his country and grade A "arsehole". Sky has to fight between softening for Bloom and his training as a fighter. It's not a hard fight really. He debates giving it all up to be with her and do anything but be the fighter he was trained to be. There's more good in him than he lets on. There's a soft heart there, and a young man dying to get out and really find some semblance of freedom on his own.

It's not meant to be though. The tragedies at the end of season two seal his fate, and given the fact that the series is over, it leaves Sky with some serious depression and dark times ahead, unless somehow prison can change his demeanor.
